The story goes as known by the Crow Tribe;
The Spider pulled together some twigs to make a rough circle. Then she spun her web over and around the twigs. Then into the web she wove a seashell to ensure her children and man always had water to drink.
Then she added an owl’s feather for wisdom. When her work was completed she changed herself into a beautiful bead, which was placed in the middle of the web. Then it will only keep the bad dreams and let the good dreams pass through. Some tribes believe you should take the dream catcher outside and shake it in the first rays of the morning sun facing east.
